Happy!

BB has added another word to her list: "Happy!" Today we were driving over to A and C's for dinner, and on the way there BB said she was "happy" at the prospect of seeing her friend. (At least, that's what we think she was trying to communicate. The syntax was "BB happy C" -- which could mean that BB was happy to be going to see C, or that C was going to be happy to see BB. Or perhaps both! But the word "happy" was clear as could be.)

It was a delicious dinner -- thanks so much, A, P, and C! -- and we had such a nice evening, all of us hanging out together. It can be challenging to find other entire families that are fun to be with, so this was an especially welcome treat.

Looks to be a busy week: I'll be doing all I can to prepare for the upcoming SCBWI conference next weekend, trying to get more than one finished draft to bring along. We leave for Nana J's on Thursday, I'll spend the night with everybody and then head to L.A. on Friday morning while S and the kids stay with Nana. My first night away since BB was born, and here I am splurging on both a Friday and a Saturday night away. Woo-hoo! Is S a good partner, or what?!? (In other words, BB isn't the only one with good reasons to be happy!)
