New Friends

As part of the ongoing effort to help BJ adjust to preschool, this morning we got together at a local park for a playdate with one of his classmates. M is also new to the preschool, and like BJ she tends to be shy. I don't think BJ had played much with her before today, but at the open house the other night I got to talking with M's mom and we hit it off. She suggested a playdate, and I immediately agreed to the plan.

Today at the park, the kids took a little while to warm up to one another, but by the end they were going down the slide together and laughing. As we left, BJ said he was excited to go to preschool on Tuesday so that he could see her again. Fingers crossed, but that was exactly the idea!
