No Tears!

BJ's ninth day at preschool was today, and he had a GREAT day, the best preschool day yet. This morning, he started to get a bit anxious about leaving -- "I don't want to be by myself without Mommy and Daddy!" -- but I reminded him he'd get to see his friend M (which cheered him up immediately).

Then I asked him, "What do you think you'll do when Daddy drops you off?"
"I'll tell him, I'll see you after lunch! I'm going to have a great great GREAT day!"

And it seems he did exactly that! It seems that it has really helped to model and roleplay alternatives to crying when he's dropped off. He really likes planning out what he's going to do and say when he starts his preschool day. I'm so proud of him!
