Been Too Long

Apparently we need to be spending more time with BJ's playgroup friends. Ever since folks have started preschool, it's been really challenging to get people together on a regular basis. These are some of the people BJ has known the longest, since we joined the playgroup when he was less than a year old, and he has several good friends in the group. (As do I.)

I'd been feeling badly that we'd not been seeing more of folks; we touched base with several people at the Halloween party last weekend, but many families already had plans and weren't able to join us. I didn't think BJ had really noticed all this, though. He certainly hadn't said anything about it.

Until today. At dinner, out of the blue, he asked if one of his friends, E, had died. Granted it had been a while since we saw E, several months, but I was completely surprised by the question. "I miss him, Mommy," BJ told me.

Okay then. I've emailed E's mom L and asked her if we can get the kids together sometime soon. I just hope he doesn't think the rest of the playgroup has been hit by the plague!
