This week's featured Etsy artist is Jenny of Madaline Jane. I've just recently unearthed my sewing machine again, after years away, so I have a fresh appreciation for folks like Jenny who are such talented seamstresses. Her children's clothes are charming -- I'm also really excited to see such cute things for boys. And kids' underwear that isn't festooned with television characters! Imagine that!

Enjoy the interview!
Tell me two (or more!) interesting things about you.
Let's see interesting... well, how about I just tell you a bit about myself and my shop. I am Jenny, mom to 5 kids. I have two sons, Julien (6) & Jackson (2). And three daughters, Ellison (4), Evelyn (6m), & Madaline (born to heaven). I've been married now for 8 years to my wonderful husband, Jacob. My business is named after my daughter who was stillborn in June 2003. I opened up my business in Jan 2007.
What do you sell in your Etsy shop?
I do mainly children's clothing, but do sell some women's & men's as well. (and looking to branch more into women's wear)

To which Etsy Street Teams do you belong? EtsyKids, EtsyMom, SewingMamas Etsy
What inspires your creations? My children do mostly, and of course fabrics.

Tell me a bit about your creative process and/or how you learned to do what you do.
While I have taken some garment class, mostly what I have learned has been self-taught. I certainly gained alot of knowledge through SewingMamas.com. They are a wonderful source of information.

What is your favorite item in your shop (currently for sale or previously sold)? Why is it your favorite?
Just one? I can't pick just one. So here's my tops.
A little black and white skirt I made last year for a sweet mama on HyenaCart.
Of course I love to make unders, they are sooo cute! Lately I have made two things I have really adored. The first I did for a swap with another mama. It was a stacking dolls shirred top, I adored the sleeves.
The next is the Asian top I made for friend.
What 3 words would you use to describe yourself? exact, organized, thoughtful
What do you like about Etsy? The wonderful handcrafted item I can get there. You can find anything!
What makes your shop unique? I make really cute (if I might say so -lol-), well-made inspiring clothing. My clothes are made to be worn by real kids -- so machine washable. And of course, I strive perfection for in all my garments.
What advice do you have for other folks selling or buying on Etsy? Mark favorites, network with others. Also join teams and participate. These have helped me.
Where else can we find out more about you and/or your creations?
