Tuckered Out

We're back home again, after a 4 day visit down to southern CA to visit Nana J (S's mom) -- left on Thursday afternoon when S got home from work, got back tonight. Was a lot of fun and a very full trip: county fair on Friday, Los Angeles Zoo on Saturday. And while we made excellent time for our trip down ("only" 5 hours, which is good for traveling with the kids!) it took over 6 hours for the ride home. All that time in the car in such a short span really takes it out of all of us, I have to say.

And it didn't help things that the van started "singing" about two hours into today's drive. A small corner of the part of the car that attaches the passenger side mirror to the door began to vibrate whenever the wind got going. Let's just say it was pretty gusty on highway 5.... and perhaps that's why neither BB nor BJ got to catch up on some much-needed sleep.

So I'm pretty tuckered out. And judging by how easily the kids went down to bed, they are too. I think I'll be close behind them for bedtime. (S is swamped with work and stressed about that, so while I think he's as tired as the rest of us, he'll be up for quite some time, alas.) Too tired to even download all the pictures we took! So stay tuned for pics soon, with fun stories to go along with them. And maybe even a video of BJ's first solo ride on a rollercoaster! We'll have to see how it turned out.
