The Girl Effect

Have you seen this video about The Girl Effect?

As a former girl, a mom, a daughter, a feminist, a humanitarian -- a human being -- I was deeply moved as I watched. I often worry about The State Of The World, feeling powerless about the possibility of change. I'm not naive. But perhaps the world really can change, one girl at a time.

I made a donation in honor of my parents to a peace building project in the Philippines. My mom spent some time in the Philippines when she was a girl, so this seemed appropriate. I don't often post about such things, but I found it so powerful that I wanted to share.
