Walking with BB this week to pick up BJ from school, we passed a long iron fence full of spiders' webs. Black widows have been much on our minds since discovering so many of them on our patio, and seeing the webs got BB talking about widows: "Mom, you know what? You should never, never, ever never touch a black widow. Nobody should EVER touch a black widow. They are always poisonous."
I nodded and told her she was absolutely right. After a considering pause while we crossed the street, she added, "Except if you're Santa Claus."
