Sleep -- it affects EVERYTHING!
Let's just say I'm looking forward to schedules adjusting and the predictability that will come with the school year starting.
(Which happens a week from Monday! Eek!)
So anyway, here are some highlights from this past week:
- BJ lost his second tooth, so got his second visit from the tooth fairy (this one was also on the bottom, so he's got that classic 6-year-old's gap-tooth smile, pretty danged cute). This time the tooth fairy left three dollars in coins, some more foreign coins, a commemorative coin for Apollo 11. And fairy kisses for both kids -- she's getting smart, eh?
- Kids completed their summer reading program through the library and were delighted to pick out their own free books (Henry and Mudge and the Forever Sea for BJ, Skippyjon Jones and the Big Bones for BB -- Skippyjon has been hugely popular with her lately)
- BB got a "great job!" sticker at gym class for going over and around the bar All By Herself
- BJ went to the park day playdate for incoming first graders and was happy to see so many of his old friends
Today should be a good day -- we're meeting Tia M at Hidden Villa, a place I've long wanted to visit with the kids. Then this evening S and I get a date night (Yay!) and while we don't yet know exactly what we're going to do, it will be Very Good to have some grown-up time. So hard to believe the summer vacation is almost over!
